I (Sabina Alasgarova) am a freelance translator, interpreter and editor/reviewer. I work with both agencies and direct clients based in the UK, USA, Russia and Europe.

Overview
I collect, store and process data described in this Privacy and Data Protection Policy.
I process source documents into target documents during translation and editing/reviewing process, and also use project information provided by customers to better understand the needs of my clients. In all cases, source documents and information are kept on file on my personal computer and cloud storage, which are both password protected.
I do not have a mailing list. If I introduce one, this policy will be updated.
My website www.sabinaalasgarova.com describes my services and gives visitors a chance to get in touch via a contact form.
I am present on LinkedIn, Proz.com and Instagram in a professional capacity.
I use Translation Memories generated from the translations I carry out and stored on my CAT (Computer Assisted Translation) tool. These enable me to provide consistency and efficiency in terminology and style.
What data do I collect?
I collect the following data:
- Name
- Contact information including phone number and email address
- IP address
- Website usage data
- The page that ‘referred’ you to this website (e.g. a search engine)
- Source documents, reference material and translations
- Other information relevant to client inquiries
- Bank details (where there is trading in place)
I may also collect and process data which is classed as sensitive information. This data is contained in documents to be translated/edited or processed as part of the translation or editing/reviewing assignment. Sensitive data may include information about the data subject’s physical or mental health, racial or ethnic origins, religious beliefs, etc. By commissioning a translation or editing/reviewing assignment containing personal data, you confirm that the data subject has consented for his/her personal data to be processed to the extent strictly necessary for the assignment to be performed.
How do I collect your data?
You directly provide me with most of the data I collect. I collect data and process data when you:
- Contact me online or place an order for any of the services offered in the website

How will I use your data?
I collect your data so that I can:

- Contact you in response to a specific enquiry

I store your data on my password-protected computer, Cloud (OneDrive), Gmail and professional email address: sabina@sabinaalasgarova.com.
With regards to work with both translation agencies and direct clients, I store all documents related to the project on my personal password-protected computer and cloud (OneDrive) for possible technical failures. This is compliant with GDPR.
I also work with agencies via their own systems, in which case I do not collect any information on the client.
I do not upload your data or translation related documents to any other online or offline system.
What are your data protection rights?
I would like to make sure you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights. Every user is entitles to the following:
The right to access – You have the right to request me for copies of your personal data. I may charge you a small fee for this service.
